We do not haul concrete or dirt, and we would rather tell you upfront than surprise you at pickup. Here is why, what to do with it, and how we can still help with the rest of your project.
No. Yankee Dumpster does not haul concrete or dirt, in any quantity. That answer costs us some rentals, but it is the honest one, and it protects you from a rejected load or a fee you did not see coming.
There are two reasons. First, weight: concrete and dirt are among the densest materials on any job site, and even a partial load can push a container and truck past legal hauling limits. Second, disposal: masonry and fill do not go to a standard dump site. They follow a separate disposal stream, which means a different facility and a different process than the household and construction debris we haul every day.
Call (352) 738-6748 and tell us about the project. We will point you toward the right disposal path for the heavy material, and handle the rest of your debris with the right-size container.
Clean concrete, brick, and masonry are widely recycled. Concrete recyclers and construction-and-demolition facilities in Central Florida accept clean loads, often at a lower cost than landfill disposal, because the material gets crushed and reused as base material. Excess dirt and fill are frequently taken by grading contractors, landscapers, or fill-wanted listings, especially clean fill. Your county solid waste department can also point you to facilities that accept masonry and fill.
If you are hiring out the demolition, ask the contractor to quote hauling the concrete as part of the job. Demo crews deal with heavy material constantly and usually have a disposal arrangement already in place.
Everything else on a typical tear-out is fair game for a roll-off: lumber and framing, drywall, cabinets and fixtures, tile and flooring, roofing shingles, fencing, and general construction debris. For most residential demo projects that is the bulk of the volume.
Dense-but-accepted materials like shingles and tile still count against your included weight allowance (2 to 4 tons depending on size, then $75 per ton), so tell us what you are loading and we will size it honestly.
Some haulers will drop a container, let you load it with concrete, and sort out the consequences at pickup: an overweight load, a per-ton bill, or a container they cannot legally lift. We would rather lose the rental than play that game. Our trucks, containers, and disposal arrangements are set up for household, renovation, and construction debris, and we are upfront about that line.
The locally owned difference is that when you call, you get a straight answer from someone who knows the material, not a national call center reading a script. See what can and cannot go in a dumpster and our flat-rate pricing for the details.
We handle the haulable side of demo, renovation, and cleanup projects across Orlando, Mt Dora, Eustis, Apopka, Sanford, Winter Garden, and surrounding communities in Lake, Orange, Seminole, and West Volusia counties. For job-site work, see our construction dumpster rental and contractor dumpster rental pages.
Not in a Yankee Dumpster rental. We do not haul concrete or dirt in any quantity. They exceed safe hauling weights quickly and require a separate disposal stream from standard debris. Clean concrete is widely recycled in Central Florida; call (352) 738-6748 and we will point you toward the right disposal path and cover the rest of your project debris with the right-size container.
Take clean concrete, brick, and masonry to a concrete recycler or a construction-and-demolition facility, where it is crushed and reused. If a contractor is doing the demolition, ask them to include concrete hauling in the quote. Your county solid waste department can list facilities near you, and we are happy to point you in the right direction when you call.
No, dirt and fill cannot go in our containers. Clean fill is often wanted by grading contractors and landscapers, which can make it one of the cheaper materials to get rid of. Branches, brush, and other yard waste are a different story: those we take. See our yard waste dumpster rental page.
For the haulable side of most residential demo projects (lumber, drywall, tile, cabinets, shingles), a 15 yard at $400 or 20 yard at $475 covers it, each including 7 days and a weight allowance. Dense materials like tile and shingles count against the allowance, so tell us what you are loading and we will size it honestly.
